Baldwin Elementary School
The principle of this elementary school design was based on an open school concept.
A central material center has been developed capable of functioning as a fully decentralized system where the total building is a library with learning centers throughout. Through the use of operable wall partitions, the entire classroom and material center area can become one open and continuous space, free to house student groups of various size with project material placed where needed. Should the administration and staff prefer to work with contained classrooms, areas can be divided and the instructional/material center will remain in the center as the backbone of the school.
Outside spaces, including a covered play area are considered places of learning, and have added significance to this school.
